Understand your Viking commission report

Review which bookings are included in Viking's monthly commission calculation and where to find the commission amount.

If your school uses Viking's commission plan, the Commission report shows which bookings are included in your monthly commission calculation.

You can use it to review the bookings, check the totals, and understand why a booking belongs to a particular month.

Open the Commission report

  1. Go to Reports → Commission.
  2. Select the month you want to review.
  3. Optionally, use the Traffic source filter to narrow down the results.

The report shows an overview of the bookings included in the selected month.

When is a booking included?

A booking is included in the month when one of the following happens first:

  • The booking is paid.
  • The first approved lesson takes place.

Whichever happens first determines the commission reporting month.

For example, a customer makes a booking in August, pays in October, and takes their first lesson in November.

The booking is included in October's Commission report because the payment happened first.

If the customer had not paid before their first approved lesson in November, the booking would be included in November instead.

This means that the booking date alone does not determine when a booking is included in the commission calculation.

Understand the report overview

The Commission report contains three main summaries:

Bookings

  • Paid bookings
  • Unpaid bookings
  • Total bookings

Courses

  • Paid courses
  • Unpaid courses
  • Total courses
  • Unplanned courses
  • Future courses

Revenue

  • Paid bookings
  • Unpaid bookings
  • Voucher sales
  • Total revenue

These figures summarize the bookings and courses included in the selected reporting month.

Check the included bookings

Scroll down to Included bookings to see the individual bookings behind the report.

The list shows information such as:

  • Booking ID and customer
  • Date of booking
  • Product
  • Number of participants
  • Course days
  • Payment information
  • Booking price

Use this list to check which bookings Viking has included in the commission calculation.

A booking can appear here even if it has not been paid, provided its first approved lesson has already taken place.

Where can I find the commission amount?

The commission amount is shown on your invoice, not in the Commission report.

The invoice refers to the Commission report so you can review which bookings were included in the calculation.

Export the included bookings

  1. Open the Commission report for the relevant month.
  2. Scroll to Included bookings.
  3. Click Export.

You can use the exported booking details to review your commission reporting outside Viking.

Commission report versus Revenue report

The two reports serve different purposes.

  • Revenue summarizes bookings and revenue based on the selected booking period.
  • Commission shows the bookings included in Viking's commission calculation for a particular month.

The totals may differ because the reports use different rules to determine which bookings belong to a period.
