Most data breaches are happening because of human error. Think of an open computer, an old password that is used multiple time or the wrong access for certain users. In this article we'll help you to keep your system secure.
Limit your admin roles
Admins have acces to critical information and can run exports with the click of a button. Make sure that only certain people in your organisation have acces to them.
Planner roles have all the planning functionality they need to operate the system and don't have acces to critical information. Besides that, planners can not run exports in the system.
Here are our tips
- Delete admins that are not being used
- Make planner roles for your staff
- Limit admin roles as much as you can
More information regarding user roles can be found here
Passwords
Passwords are one of the biggest weak spots in the whole internet security structure. People tend to choose easy passwords to remember, which are also easy when they get in the wrong hands. Here are our password tips:
- Use unique passwords
- Use strong passwords
- Update your passwords on a regular base
Log out of the system
As an admin, if your are not using Viking, make sure to log out. If you are using Viking on a public computer, make sure to automatically lock your computer's screen after X period of time.
