Create and manage information pages

Create, edit, translate and save custom info pages, then link them to the customer dashboard or website.

Information pages let you add your own content to Viking, such as practical instructions, FAQs or information for customers.

You can use these pages in the customer dashboard, instructor dashboard or link to them from your website.

Creating a page and adding it to a dashboard menu are two separate steps.

1. Create an information page

  1. Go to Settings → Info pages.
  2. Click New page.
  3. Enter a Title for your page.
  4. Choose the final part of the page URL.
  5. Add your text and other information in the Content field.
  6. Click Update to save your page.

For example, you could create a page called Before your first lesson with practical information about what customers should bring.

Choose your page URL

Each information page has a URL within your Viking environment.

For an English page, the URL starts with:

\yourschool.vikingbookings.com/en/info/\

You can choose the final part of this URL, such as:

\before-your-first-lesson\

The full URL would then be:

\yourschool.vikingbookings.com/en/info/before-your-first-lesson\

You cannot change the fixed part of the URL.

2. Edit an existing page

  1. Go to Settings → Info pages.
  2. Open the page you want to change.
  3. Edit its title, URL or content.
  4. Click Update to save your changes.

If you change the URL of a page that is already linked from a dashboard menu or your website, make sure you update those links as well.

Save a page as a draft

If you're not ready to finish a page, you can save it as a draft.

  1. Click the upward arrow next to the Update button.
  2. Select the option to save as a draft.

This lets you keep your changes as a draft instead of completing the normal update.

3. Add translations

You can create separate language versions of an information page.

  1. Open the information page.
  2. Click Add translation on the right.
  3. Enter the translated title and content.
  4. Save the translation.

Each language version has its own language-specific URL.

If you use the page in multiple languages, make sure you link to the correct version for each language.

4. Make your page accessible to customers

Creating an information page does not automatically add it to the customer dashboard navigation.

To make it accessible from the dashboard menu, you also need to configure the navigation under Settings → Navigation.

Select the navigation menu for the Student position and the appropriate language, then add a menu item linking to your information page.

For the full procedure, see Customize dashboard navigation.

You can also use the information page URL when you want to link to the page from your own website.

5. Test your information page

After creating or updating a page:

  • Open the page using its URL.
  • Check that the content looks correct.
  • If you added it to the customer dashboard, log in as a customer and check that the menu link works.
  • If you created translations, check the link and content for every language.
