A lesson paid online, a rental settled at the desk and a course paid in two instalments all need to end up in your administration. Viking Bookings keeps bookings, customer information and registered payments connected, then lets you use that data in Excel or your own accounting software.
That is a deliberate choice: you should be able to organize and automate your administration using the accounting tools that fit your business and country.
If your bookkeeping depends entirely on your booking software, a missing local tax feature can become an administrative problem. You may need a workaround or have to wait for the provider to develop it.
Viking deliberately keeps your booking and payment records connected while giving you the freedom to choose how those records are processed for bookkeeping. Your accounting solution can match your country, business structure and accountant’s way of working.
Your local accounting requirements shouldn’t depend on what your booking software supports.
In your accounting program, you configure the relevant treatment, including VAT rates per product and reverse-charge treatment where applicable. Depending on that software and its setup, you can also automate further processing and parts of tax reporting or filing.
Viking provides the operational records and access to transaction data. Your chosen accounting software handles the configured accounting rules, giving you room to adapt without waiting for Viking to build every individual fiscal function.
A busy watersports center receives payments in different ways and at different moments. One customer pays for a surf lesson online, another settles a rental on location and a third pays the remaining balance of a course.
Viking keeps registered payments connected to the relevant booking and customer information. Your team can check payment status during daily operations and use reporting filters to find bookings with outstanding amounts.
For example, you can identify bookings where lessons have already been given but payment is still outstanding. That gives your team a concrete list to follow up instead of checking bookings individually.
Your administration starts with knowing what was booked, what was paid and what remains open.
One booking does not always mean one payment. A customer might book a kitesurf course in March, pay a deposit immediately and settle the remaining amount in April.
Viking’s Transaction Report lists each registered payment by payment date, including partial payments. It also shows the related booking and its first lesson date, so the payment remains connected to the activity it belongs to.
Booking reports answer questions about bookings, transaction reports show payments and course reports show completed lessons. Those dates can differ, so each report serves a different purpose.

In our experience, smaller watersports schools often use an export to continue their administration in Excel. They need an accessible record of their transactions without setting up a custom integration.
The Transaction Report can be exported for further processing or shared with whoever handles the bookkeeping. Your starting point is the payment information already registered in Viking, rather than a separate list maintained alongside your bookings.
You can keep the workflow simple while your administrative workload is manageable. If transferring files becomes a recurring job, an accounting integration can be the next step.
For larger schools and centers, manually moving transaction data can become unnecessary recurring work. The Viking API gives your developer a way to build a connection that retrieves that data for your accounting system.
The API provides financial transactions for a selected period, including amounts, payment methods and transaction lines. Product codes, where configured, are also available to help map those transactions to your accounting setup.
Several Viking customers already have working connections with accounting systems. Once built and configured, a connection can retrieve transaction data without your team repeatedly exporting and transferring files.

Whether you run a surf school, kite school, SUP business or windsurf center, the foundation is the same: booking and payment records that your team can use.
Viking brings those records together, helps you identify outstanding payments and makes transaction data available for bookkeeping. You can start with an export and automate more of the transfer as your business grows, while keeping the accounting solution that fits your needs.
